In the week of 23 November 2020 Knokke Heliport received a unique visitor. An Austrian Super Puma AS332 made a stopover on its way to the port of Zeebrugge.
The helicopter of Heli Austria has been sold to Chile, where the helicopter will be converted and used as extinguishing helicopter (extinguishing forest fires).
The company Herfurth Logistics - which arranges the logistics to Chile - uses Knokke Heliporton a regular basis to temporarily stock helicopters before they are loaded onto maritime transport in Zeebrugge.
The Super Puma AS332 is a four-bladed twin-engine helicopter that is widely used worldwide in offshore, oil extraction, transport and also exists in a military version.
